Here's our son Jay's feet, we removed our 4600 Maxum's medicine cabinet to allow him to dangle inside of it's hole. He's helping us to install a 3" power ventilation tube from the pump room to the deck.

This is Jay, 12 at the time of the photo, notice the smile? Jay is in our Maxum 4600 SCB, in the master bath, inside of the cutout behind the medicine cabinet. He has 25' of 3" flexible vent tubing that he is passing through under the floor to one of our other children in the pump room, yes there is enough room for the tubing under the floor. We tried passing the 3" tubing through to the pump room over the top, and along the side just under the main topside deck, no good, there was not enough room for 3' flexible tubing or the access was blocked. We have the 3" tube connected to a 3" mini fan which operates from the bathroom fan switch, it also operates from solar power. You can see a photo of the solar vent on the side of the boat in the Maxumowners.org website in the Plumbing Section. If you own a 4600 SCB you already know the pump room is not vented, I don't know where Maxum thought the smell would go, or if they even considered there would be a smell. Well surprise, there is. And here is one of the answers we found to get rid of it. Who ever said children can't earn their way never saw them work on our boat. James 3/2001
